Also, it's absolutely insane how active my muses have gotten over the last couple of days.
Now, if you've known me at all in the past couple of years, you'll know that when I get sick or tired or bored or just generally not completely focused, sometimes what I say isn't actually me, but a muse.

nonewwitticisms, draca, evanjeline, and maybe scheherezhad can probably all attest to this. And nonewwitticisms has confirmed that muses actually change the way I type.)
Case in point:
I was discussing with Customer A the options we had regarding reducing his APR on his credit card. I'm a retention agent, so I have the ability to change things like that if our credit department has reviewed the account and decided that we don't mind giving them a lower APR.
So tonight I was mind-boggingly bored and going through that conversation on complete autopilot, and Customer A asks:
Why does it take so long for the credit department to make a decision?
Me: (not paying attention) Well, you see, it's a little difficult to explain. I don't know the exact criteria that our credit department uses, but it's basically--
Alex (using my mouth): Basically, the credit department is like a skittish prom date. You have to wait until they come around.
Me: *blinks and gapes at computer in horror, thinking Oh, my god, I did not just say that!
Customer A: I guess that makes sense.
Me: QA (Quality Assurance) is going to kick my ass if they listen to this call.
Also, I'm thinking of creating a filter for when I do start posting my original stuff, because of course I'm kind of protective over it. If you want to be in on that filter, just comment here.

Here are a couple of things that evanjeline said over the course of the last couple of weeks that have amused me.
To my cat, Luna, who was trying to sit on a hot straightening iron: "I don't want you sitting your ass on a hot iron because 'ooh, it feels warm from a distance.'
To me, while I was reading her a really good SGA fic while she was getting ready to go to work: 'You can pull a chair up in the hallway and read to me while I'm doing my hair.' (For some reason, this really amused me. No idea why. :P)
About poor Alaska, my beloved original muse that might have to be cut from the story because he no longer has a place in the narrative: 'you're just like a real man: we love you, but you're useless.'
About me and my ficcing again, because I do that a lot: "See, that's why I've got a Rachel!filter-- I just set you loose on a fandom, and I'm guaranteed at least five good stories!"
In other news, even though Luna's been throwing up at least once a day for the past two weeks, the vet doesn't think the tumors have grown back. It might just be a reaction to tapeworms received via fleas, so now I have a three month supply of flea killer for both of my cats, which should start making them feel better soon. I'm very happy about that.
