OMG, I can't believe it's almost the end of November already. I don't even know what I've been doing all month.
I'm still chugging away at Nano -- only at 16k, but it's more than I've had the last three years, so I'm going to take it as a win. I am still suffering election hangover and am fighting with my racist family on facebook, because I apparently have nothing better to do with my time.
(seriously, I posted a thing I found that expressed my rage only a little, and the first comment from my dumbass cousin was 'That's not nice.' I'm not in it to be nice, asshole. We white people ruined nice when we proved ourselves to be racist fucks and elected a homophobic, pro-birth misogynist racist with no political experience to be our country's leader. It's only been twelve days. I'm still fucking pissed.)
So I've been taking my little joys and victories where I can find them. Mostly in writing coldflash fic, which is the gift that keeps on giving for me.
The world might be going to hell, but at least I have my fic.
(Which, okay, I love my fandom, I do? But almost all the fic is terrible. I don't even read anything anymore because it's all so damned bad and disheartening. Where are the good fic writers when you need them?)
Anyway, American Thanksgiving is only a couple of days away, and after that I plunge into retail hell for the holidays. I'm angry and bitter and exhausted and the only way I'm even coping is by compartmentalizing.
