So I finally broke down and downloaded Zombies, RUN! on my android because I've been hearing so many good things about it. I was walking along, minding my own business on Mission 1, when Sam Yao shouts in my ear, HOSTILES, RUN! RUN! And I, terrified of those nonexistent zombies, run as if my life depended on it.

And after maybe twenty strides of RUNNING MY BUTT OFF, I stopped being able to BREATHE.

I'm usually so careful about what types of activities I do that I forget I actually do, in fact, have asthma, and yes, cardio DOES actually set it off.

So I'm going to turn the ZOMBIE HORDES feature off for the time being, and play Zombies, WALK! for a while.

After I relearn breathing again.

Hee! My asthma is the same -- I usually quite forget I have it and somehow end up vaguely surprised when light cardio means No More Breathing -- so it's nice to know I'm not the only medical failpot.

However, that Zombies thing might be the best excuse for cardio, ever. It sounds really cool.

Ouch! I know that feeling well.

A couple suggestions -- your asthma sounds worse than mine, but this might help you how it helped me, so... Anyway, if you have a rescue inhaler, you can pre-game with it. Two puffs of albuterol before exercise made a huge difference to my lungs' ability to cope. Also, are there weather conditions that are more likely to trigger you? I can't do cold air, so I have a wool thing that goes over my nose & mouth to keep the air going into my lungs warm.

One encouraging thing! Consistent running has helped my lungs get less prone to asthma over time. In good weather, I rarely have problems anymore, to the point where I don't even bring the inhaler with me. Yesterday I did 6 miles and got a sunburn, but no breathing problems.
