RAAAAGE
Okay, Marvel, really?
Marvel hasn't confirmed it yet, but X-23 appears to have been canceled.
I had incoherent issues about it last night, which I ignored in favor of The New Girl and Hershey's Candy Cane kisses, but this. Now I've had time to think about it, and my rage has grown. I'm full on Wrath demon, for serious.
Once upon a time, I toyed with the idea of doing something like a Marvel equivalent to
dcwomenkickingass_feed and started to collect a lot of information from news articles about Marvel. I've been doing this for about two months, and haven't heard anything about a specific female title. I've found out why, now.
X-23 is the only established solo female comic book they have. The only one. The new Ghost Rider is female, but honestly, how long is that going to last before John Blaze comes back? Probably as long as it takes the next Nicolas Cage movie to come out.
And get this. In September, even with the DCnU reboot, X-23 was #99 out of the top 100. In October, it was #104. This is not a bad selling book. I'm glad that they confirmed Marjorie Liu was still going to be working projects over at MU, and I know they've been rocked by budget cuts and layoffs, but what I don't understand is why they would cancel a decently selling book, the only established solo female book Marvel even has.
Argh.
