While I'm on this whole avoiding-thinking-so-I-can-pretend-my-life-isn't-fucked-up-right-now thing, I have more comics for you.

First:

God Loves, Man Kills

Second: Dark Phoenix Saga

As always, you can read these by using CDisplay.

So, funny story. When I posted the Age of Apocalypse stuff, I mentioned my two favorite classic X-Men stories: God Loves, Man Kills, and The Dark Phoenix saga.

I found them, obviously, since I have the two stories available for upload in this entry, but when I read them again, I was horrified to realize they were written by Chris Claremont, whom—you know, I don't even know. I used to love him when I was a kid, but I really, really think he's such a crap writer, it's painful.

Also: I hate the Logan/Jean/Scott triangle. Despise it with every fiber of my being. And if I had to see one more frame of Scott saying, "I love you, Jean!" and Jean going, "And I you, Scott...With all my heart!" (and trust me, it happens a lot in The Dark Phoenix Saga) I was genuinely going to destroy those files and never show them to the light of day for anyone else's torture.

But I still felt for them. And if there's one thing Claremont's good at, it's monologues. So I share that with you, if nothing else.

What can I say about these, really? In God Loves, Man Kills, I think my favorite parts of that graphic novel are the friendship between Scott and Ororo, and Nightcrawler. Dude, he was wonderful. He was also the only X-Man whose solo series I collected every issue of until it was canceled.

The Dark Phoenix Saga is still great, but it just serves to remind me that I need to get an upload for the old Teen Titans/X-Men crossover that was written. Do you guys know that was written the year I was born? How crazy is that? Oh, Marvel comics.

And hey! After reading [syndicated profile] dcwomenkickingass_feed for so long, I thought it would be awesome if I could maybe do something like that for Marvel women as maybe something to help me keep my journal active. Does anyone have any requests over who they'd like to read about?

Downloading ALL THE THINGS. Just so you know.

MAGIK. That's who I want first. And then maybe Dust? Oh! Oh! And Dani Moonstar, of course. Goodness, so many choices! So here's some other options: Scarlet Witch, Psylocke, Mystique, Callisto.

I can't believe I forgot her, but I would adore something on X-23 (Wolverine's female clone?). Ever since I discovered her, I've been curious to learn more.
