1. Harry Potter was a celebrated hero of the Wizarding World, but it only took one cold look from Draco Malfoy to make all of his accomplishments feel useless.

2. Zeke had no idea how the older him handled Blaise's affection, or if as a professor he was even aware of it-- all he knew was that he felt as though he might die of wanting him.

3. Hermione dreamt of silver and moonlight and lost brown eyes, but they were always forgotten when she awoke.

(ugh, that last one was awful. *headdesk*)

1. Every time Wolfram saw Gwendal handle his knitting needles, his movements calm and measured, a suspicious flush crept up his neck and he searched for Yuuri, desperate to give that sudden heat a way out.

2. Gunter liked it when they were alone, because Gwendal exuded a strength that made the atmosphere between them silent and serene.

3. He had tried everything to find it, from drugs to meditation--but it wasn't until he held Lian in his arms that he glimpsed the elusive contentment he had been searching for.

Okay, I had issues with these. Or rather, I was dissatisfied. So, you actually get something like, five sentences for the price of three! Or something. ^^;;

1. Lisa didn't tend to think about the past very often, but occasionally House would do something even more insane than usual and she would realize just how bitter she still was over the loss of Vogler's money.

Then I realized that was more Gen than shippy, so you also get:

When House was really bitter over something she'd refused him, especially when she knew she was in the wrong, she would make it a point to wear a low-cut top that he could ridicule, and she wouldn't call him on his mockery.

2. House didn't like cold days because they made his leg hurt and chapped his face with wind and created runny noses for the clinic--but he wouldn't trade them for anything because those were the days when Wilson would take one look at him, clasp his numb hands in his and share the warmth.

3. Conrad spent the days taking care of Yuuri and found himself wondering when his devotion to the Original King got displaced by his affection for the current one.

But I realized that sentence was kinda blah, so you get another side of blah to go with it. :P

Conrad hugged Yuuri, desperately wishing to cure the displaced king's homesickness, and whispered, "I'm sorry, Yuuri. You are home to me."

1. Toulouse watched Christian weep over Satine's body, and desperately wished he could kiss his tears away.

2. Mark turned his camera on Roger and caught a rare moment of gentleness as he brushed Mimi's hair away from her face--he was suddenly glad the camera's battery was dead.

3. It often seemed that Minerva was as gray and tired as he, burned down to the essentials now that Albus was dead, but she still pulled him as strongly as the moon.

1. Gwendal found himself gravitating toward the stables whenever he took a break from His Majesty's paperwork--the horses appreciated the attention, and more often than not, Conrad would appear to share his company.

2. Sometimes Revell would lay awake at night and wonder how Alex and Blythe had been able to break the bonds of his past so easily.

3. Erik managed to deny the closeness between Cyrus and Tara until he broke beneath the weight of their farewell; yet he took solace in the sound of the gravel crunching under Tara's steps even still.

1. zeke : blaise
Every time Zeke looked at Blaise, something inside his chest would twinge, and he would remember Lupin’s words: Please be careful, Severus—nothing you create here will last.

2. draco/harry: tolerance
Draco had risked the wrath of his father and Voldemort to be his lover, so Harry figured the least he could do is show Crabbe and Goyle’s stupidity some tolerance.

3. severus: blaise
Severus was quite certain he knew the difference between right and wrong, although he too often crossed the line between them; then Blaise kissed him, and the distinction vanished altogether.

4. severus: regret
Severus thought of all the irritation he had caused Albus before he had killed him, as well as that final betrayal, took a moment to acknowledge his regret, and moved on.

5. lucius: hate
Lucius had never set out to teach Draco hate, only superiority—it was a genuine pity the two were so entwined.

It was alternately amusing and annoying that Tara could kiss him one moment and pine after Alaska the next; considering what she was capable of, the girl had a remarkable aversion to the truth.

2. Gwendal/Conrad and power(ful)
With all the power Gwendal held in His Majesty’s government, he had a line of people desperate to get into his bed; yet he would see Conrad smiling at His Majesty and wonder why he could never get what he really wanted.

3. Alex/Raven and control
Alex kissed like he lived—hard, passionate, enthusiastic—and Raven wondered why he had so little control where Alex was concerned.

4. Fox and love
If love was something that could be contained and categorized in stupid things like Valentine’s Day and Anniversaries and long walks on the beach, then he had never known love, and was all the better for it.

5. James and consequences
James was not a fool, but even he could not foresee the consequences of grooming Tara to be his heir.

6. Erik and incense
“Your hair smells of incense,” he told her, and she gave him a look that he both despised and adored: despised because he knew she pitied him, adored because she would then brush her fingers against the side of his face, and that was enough.

Draco was embarrassed because he felt as though he was betraying Slytherin for even thinking it, but he really wasn’t all that fond of the color green.

8. Conrad and chimera (This was the definition of chimera that I used: an illusion or fabrication of the mind; especially : an unrealizable dream. If this wasn't the definition that you wanted, tell me and I'll give you another one.)

Conrad did his best to protect and serve his king, and kept his feelings hidden—Yuuri, like Julia, was a chimera.

9. Lex and majestic (I did have a Lex!muse until Draco ate him. >:O And I almost did normal DC!Lex until you mentioned Smallville)

Lex promised himself that he would stand above them all, always calm and majestic, and that his mask would be so perfect that no one would ever know what he had to do to get to the top.

10. Gwendal and canister
Gwendal looked at the canister in front of him, and then Anissina’s cheerful, greedy face, and decided that some subjects were not meant to be broached.

1. Tara/Cy; calculations
Tara was a quick learner, but by Cyrus' calculations she had years of things she needed to process; he supposed they were fortunate that time was not a fixed construct here.

2. Alaska/Tara; manipulation
Alaska thought he was fairly good at spotting manipulation, seeing as he and Erik had been practicing it for centuries, but there was something both irritating and inspiring in watching Tara manipulate them all so effortlessly.

3. Alex/Hasan; heat
Hasan would never say it out loud, but he loved to curl around Alex and rub against his jaw and cheek and hair, loved the way Alex's body heat soaked into him; Alex would laugh and say, "You're such a cat!" and Hasan would remain quiet and allow Alex to think that was the only reason he was at his side.

Eniya had the feeling that she might have enjoyed dinner more if they hadn’t all looked at each other as though they were the main course.

Erik might have loved Kaitlana once, but that was enough to know she was like a star—beautiful, distant, and destined to burn out in the end.

Tara still remembered the smell of Rowan’s hair, and how easily they had laughed together—but that had been in the past and only hate lay between them now.

4. Tara/Eniya/Fox and murmur
Fox recognized there would be problems the first time he saw Tara murmur something into Eniya’s ear that made her laugh—they both loved Eniya too much, and Fox wasn’t sure if either of them knew how to share.

5. Tara/Alaska/Erik and candy
There was something almost obscene about the way Alaska would eat candy, a way that his mouth moved that caused Tara to flush in embarrassed arousal—but when he smiled at her and slid his eyes over to Erik, she knew he understood.

6. Tara/Cy/Alex/Blythe and wane
Tara often despises the fact that she can love so much more immediately than Cyrus, because humans wane so easily, and all she can do was watch them leave.

7. Tara/Cy/Terayna/Revell and war
Revell knew that war between them was a best case scenario if their hearts were ever involved with each other, so he smiled and asked, “Can we just skip the love and go straight to the sex?”

8. Tara and twilight
Tara hid in the playgrounds at dusk and watched all the parents carry away their tired children back to their cars, feeling the burn of her eyes and biting her lip against it as she left--she was the twilight; there was no reason to want more.

Eniya/Alaska and flowers
Eniya wondered what kind of flowers Alaska had liked when he was alive, and then realized it didn’t even matter, because there wasn’t anyway she could give them—he didn’t even have a grave.

Gwendal and Conrad!plushie
Yuuri flails, “Oh wow! You’ve made a Conrad!plushie!” and takes it out of Gwendal’s hands thoughtlessly; Gwendal stares at forlornly after it until he realizes Conrad is watching him with a smile, and scowls angrily, although the blush is still high in his cheeks.

Alex/Revell and missing
Revell had flirted with Alex before, but he flirts with anyone as a matter of course, so no one really takes him seriously; and now, safely accepted into his position, he wondered why everyone was so desperate to get into Alex’s bed, since it only took the most innocent touch from his king to attain the comfort he had been missing.
