Okay. Why, in all of the SGA/Sentinel AUs I read, is the Sentinel bond like some sort of empathic soul-matish thing? Where they have to actually physically bond (usually with pr0n)? I don't recall that actually being part of Sentinel canon, but I see it so often I'm a little curious. Was the whole One-Guide-for-one-sentinel thing something that was canon in the later seasons of the Sentinel, which I did not watch?

And on a less canon note-- why do Sentinel!John and Guide!Rodney always act out of character? It kills me!

I'm a bit fuzzy on this after all these years, but I think after Blair and Jim went back to the jungles of wherever and talked to the native shaman guy and did the whole spirit animal thing, one-Guide-for-one-sentinel may have been canon. Certainly it was fanon, as was the physical bonding. Sometimes they even physically bonded in gen fic. It was a peculiar fandom.

And where are these crossovers of which you speak?

I'm pretty sure I saw most of the series, but I definitely missed some of it because I don't remember Alex or Blair drowning in the fountain at all.

Also, I've noticed it was a peculiar fandom. It's definitely amusing.

I really have far too much time on my hands.

This is what drives me up the fricking wall. I desperately want good SGA/Sentinel fusion stories, but they're always so OOC. And the "zomg guide meets sentinel = must pr0n NAO" is REALLY GODDDAMN ANNOYING. Is no one willing to let them build a fricking relationship first? Jesus Christ. [cranky face]
