(no subject)

I really don't know what I'm going to write, only that it's been a week or so since my last entry and I do feel obligated to keep in contact with everyone on livejournal-- all of the ones who can't just randomly drop by my work and say 'I haven't seen you in a while.' So.

Currently, I'm sick. I've taken more medicine in the past two days than I have in the past six months combined. And I'm still hacking and sniffling and wanting to sleep. But I can't do it for very long, because I have work tonight.

Also, I'm really beginning to think my bosses are really just... stupid, as much as I might like them. I got Zarita aka [livejournal.com profile] evangeline a position at my work, and I was training her. I was told she'd be with me all week. The next day, Bob call Zarita while she's at school, so she called the store back, had to get Bob's cell number because nobody knew what he wanted from her, and when she finally got a hold of him, he told her that she was supposed to work that night because *I* was going to be training someone else. Apparently, he said something like 'You've been with Rachel for a week' when in actuality I'd been training her for two days. And of course, Bob didn't call me to let me know anything, so if not for Zarita calling and saying she wasn't working my shift anymore, I would've walked in, seen this new person and been like. wtf? Meh.

I finished reading a book another book of poetry by Ted Kooser (whom I love with a passion even if I didn't know he existed a month ago) finished reading Lake of Dead Languages and a book of Pablo Neruda, The Opal Deception, and was about to start reading The Time Traveler's Wife when I realized that I still have the last book of The Dark Tower series to go through, so I'm vowing not to touch another book until I get that one completed. I'm optimistic about my chances.

In other news, I absolutely despise fandoms where, in order to prove their ship to be the 'right' ship, they have to actively try to kill other ships. "Liek, omg, THIS PROVES that pairing A is WRONG! PAIRING B 4EVAR!!1!111!" Et Cetera. I'm a fairly open minded fangirl. I love a bunch of different ships, and I read a bunch of different ships, but I would never say, 'hey, you draco/hermione shipper over there, your pairing is wrong because Draco OBVIOUSLY loves Harry, and besides -cite proof from this book or movie canon here-" It's ridiculous and irritating. And also very disappointing. I don't want to be annoyed by fandom-- I just want to read the fic. Is there a way of doing both? Because I haven't found it yet.

I also really want to see Glory Road. I'm not one for sports, myself, but I live for those inspirational sports movies. Remember the Titans? Miracle? Angels in the Outfield? Major League? Oh yes. I hunger for those movies. In fact, I think I'm going to watch Angels in the Outfield right now.

I got Fly by Night, but I really, really want Sure Signs. You'll have to let me borrow. And I have no money because I've got bills like whoa. It seems using a billion different credit cards is finally catching up to me. ^^;;

*coughs* *pushes her 'Why Yusuke/Keiko doesn't work' essay and Yusuke/Kurama manifesto out of sight*

*wanders off, whistling innocently*

...I completely forgot that you did those. *beady look*

But more to the point, I was really talking about the Yuuri/Wolfram fangirl saying 'OMG IN THIS EPISODE YUURI CALLS CONRAD ONII-CHAN SQUEE.'

It's comments like that that bug me, maybe because I ship Conrad/Yuuri a great deal, perhaps even more than I once shipped Harry/Draco. It's easy enough to avoid essays or manifestos because they're clearly marked, and you don't have to read them if you don't want to. But when you're looking at screen caps or something, and the person who uploaded them is adding her own shippy captions to them, that's a little more irritating. Maybe I'm being too sensitive about it.
