Lex! *claws at face* Smallville Lex is the Lex I have the strongest feelings about, so I'll definitely talk about him!

How I feel about this character

To be fair, I only ended up watching until season 5 or so, mostly because it was becoming ridiculous and I hated KK's Lana Lang, but Lex was my favorite favorite favorite character on Smallville. I love everything about him, how he was in a ridiculous war with everyone he knew and how he kept trying to be good when everything was pushing him. Ugh, Lex, I still think he was horribly served by the show in the end.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

I only ever shipped him with Clark. I'm much more of a multishipper nowadays, but oh, Smallville Clark/Lex just hit all of my buttons in just the right ways. I always believed that if Clark had told Lex his secret, he would have done anything to keep him safe. I don't believe that of ANY OTHER LEX LUTHOR, but I sure as hell believed it for them.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

Absolutely Lex and Lionel. Their relationship was so horrible and antagonistic over the misunderstanding of Julian's death, and I cried when it was revealed that Lillian was the one who had murdered Julian because I couldn't help but wonder how everything could have been so different.

My unpopular opinion about this character

I've been out of fandom so long, I don't even know? I really hated Lana/Lex? And I kind of wished Chloe and Lex would date for a little instead.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon

*sigh* My one big wish is that Clark had told Lex his secret, and Lex would have proven himself trustworthy. DDD: He could have been the one of the few good Lex Luthors in all the multiverse!

I watched even less SV than you. Somewhere around s3 (okay, not somewhere -- right after the involuntary electroshock treatment ) I gave up on the show, despite how much I'd loved the Lex/Clark vibe of early seasons. But it's interesting because you hit a lot of the things that I remember about it: disliking Lana; finding Chloe far more interesting; finding the strained relationship between Lionel and Lex utterly fascinating; believing that if Lex could get a little support to fight against the bad guy mold that everyone wanted to force him into that he could be a great man. But more than that, the first couple seasons really had that feeling that if Clark could only be honest, that Lex would not only forgive him but move heaven and hell to keep him and the Kents safe.

...In a nutshell, I think that makes up the majority of my favourite SV stories. (Truth, trust, sexytimes.)
