Meme!
I'm pretty sure I saw this on tumblr, but I'm stealing this from
kate.
Pick a number and I'll try to answer that question. Then you can do the meme or not as you choose.
1. Of the fic you’ve written, of which are you most proud?
2. Favorite tense
3. Favorite POV
4. What are some themes you love writing about?
5. What inspires you to write?
6. Thoughts on critique
7. Create a character on the spot... NOW!
8. Is there a character you love writing for the most? The least? Why?
9. A passage from a WIP
10. What are your strengths in writing?
11. What are your weaknesses in writing?
12. Anything else that you want to know... (otherwise known as Fill in the Blank)

Lydia Anders is a free-lance journalist who specializes in war-zone reporting. She has black hair that she cut short once she learned she was going to be in Afghanistan, and green eyes, because I'm weak and I always like to give characters green eyes.
How far in depth do you want me to be?

Like where'd she get her journalism degree from? What countries has she visited? How big/small is her family? What's her favorite quote? Which story is she most proud of?

She got her degree from Ball University. She's visited Jamaica, Canada, Pakistan, and Egypt. She has two moms, an older sister, and younger brother. Her favorite quote is from Mark Twain: "Substitute 'damn' every time you're inclined to write 'very;' your editor will delete it and the writing will be just as it should be."
She's secretly most proud of the story she wrote for the school paper regarding the Boston Occupy protest they had.

But also \o/
I WANT HER STORY.

Also - I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN YOU! And I just wrote a bunch of stuff I should've put in an email, so I'm gonna do that. :D

Oh, things that I love writing about. I love writing about magic (both like, old-school fantasy magic tropes, and also supernatural creatures), love, redemption, sacrifice. Redemption and sacrifice are two things that are constantly showing up in my original work, and probably a lot in my longer fanfic, too. Redemption! I love it.

So, hit me with 10 and 11?
no subject
10) No.
11) Yes.
Seriously though... I'm pretty good at showing instead of telling?
Oh, and I'm terrible at starting a story correctly. I write very chronologically, so I always want to start at the very, very beginning, even when that might not be in the best interest of the work.

Okay, so we will have to look at this further! I am sure you have many strengths and you need to own them! You are awesome! *\o/* (Also, showing not telling is a MASSIVE strength to have - and something a lot of people take years to learn (or never do) so be super proud of that.)
As for the weaknesses, that is what we can work on! And starting a story happens to be one of my strengths, so I'm happy to work that with you. There is actually a trick to it. (I write chronologically too - I've never had any luck trying to link things up when I write in different places in a story at the same time.) *\o/**\o/**\o/*
How about 2,3, and 5?

Anyway, 2 and 3 are super easy. My preferred tense is past tense, and my favorite pov is limited 3rd person—I always like the challenge.
Number 5 is a little more ambiguous. I can be inspired by anything? Most often, it's music. But sometimes it's science, or history. I also love love love rewriting fairy tales.
