December Meme - Day 5

dungeonmarm asked: You win three thousand dollars and are advised you have to use it in a charitable way. What do you do?

I honestly don't know that much about different charities, like which ones have a high overhead and which ones send most of the money into charitable efforts. I know I'd probably donate to Credo and Doctors Without Borders, but then I'd probably ask my friends about what charities they might suggest. We're all pretty equal on causes, I think, so I could trust their judgement.

out_there asked about current tv crushes, so... oh, boy.

My newest crush without a doubt is Dorian from Almost Human. I thought that my favorite would be Kellex, because he's Karl Urban, but no. I love everything about Dorian—his snark, his sensitivity, his everything. It makes me want to keysmash in delight. It also helps that Michael Ealy and Karl Urban have a great slashy chemistry together.

In Sleepy Hollow, Abbie is absolutely my girl. She's smart and no nonsense and she likes baseball (girls who like baseball get an extra bonus point in my book) and she's also a cop and she doesn't take anyone's crap. I need to catch up on the show, but I've been hearing that she's being sidelined for more of Crane's (BORING TRITE OVERDONE STORY OMG I'M SO DONE WITH CRANE) so that makes me less happy.

In Agents of SHIELD, my baby is completely and utterly Melinda May. I have a competence kink, and even though I was annoyed by the Asian-chick-who-does-martial-arts trope, I find her mysterious and cool and utterly in control, and I firmly believe that without her the team would be dead.

I thought I'd include Supernatural, but even as I think about it, I wouldn't say that I crush on any of the characters. Not even Castiel. So moving on to:

ELEMENTARY. I have a crush on EVERYONE IN THIS SHOW. JOAN (another baseball fan, points +100000000000) and SHERLOCK being assholish and abrasive but so extraordinarily human and MYCROFT for giving everyone bedroom eyes and ALFREDO for being the COOLEST SUPPORTING CHARACTER EVER and MARCUS and ANDRE and GREGSON and just EVERYONE THIS SHOW IS A CURRENT TV CRUSH.

I can understand that very well. *approves* But I have to say, I hope she doesn't get sidelined. I much prefer Crane as Abbie's sidekick -- there with the support and respect and occasional snarky hilariousness, but not the focus of the show.

Melinda is utterly awesome. Utterly. And her eye-rolls alone make her crush-worthy. (My AoS crush is definitely Coulson, basically for the competence and snark but Melinda is the second favourite of the group.)
