Sometimes I take stock of myself and my life and realize I'm pretty content. It's kind of weird. I have a part time job that I enjoy for the most part (although I do sincerely miss data entry at the local newspaper.) I'm devouring visual media like it's going out of style, although my reading has definitely decreased.

Anyway, yesterday was [profile] the_gentlmans_revolt's birthday, so I took him out for lunch and it was a gorgeous day outside, crisp and beautiful (although I was freakishly cold as always.) After lunch, we went to a flea market, Target, and TJ Maxx, and then came back to my place to marathon several episodes of Supernatural. We just finished 01x10—Asylum— and we've also started a rewatch of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I've realized that I haven't rewatched SPN Seasons 1-3 at all, and I haven't rewatched any of Buffy besides Once More With Feeling, so I'm having a lot of fun watching it now that I'm older. Joss Whedon has such great dialogue, even though The Master is totally a weak villain.

I've had so many projects running through my head that I decided to break up my months specific to the particular work I want to do; the first week of February was devoted to vidding, and I suppose I'm going to release it even though I'm not really happy with it, because I have no idea how you actually get a vid betaed. This week was for podficcing, but my dad is so freaking loud in the house it's impossible to record unless he's completely gone, so at least I made a diy mic screen. Hopefully in March I'll have better luck. Tomorrow starts fic week, and I'm really itching to work on Chapter 5 of The Narrow Way, my Loki story, and outlining my as of yet untitled SPN Season 8 fic. I'm so envious of SPN writers who can get away with short things, because apparently it is NOT my fandom for short things. Honestly, even thinking about it exhausts all my effort. The last week of February is going to be dedicated to original fiction, so I'm hopeful I'll actually get something done. I'm hoping that by dividing my projects like this, I'll get less distracted.

In comics, all I can say is I LOVE SCOTT SUMMERS. I get the feeling that he's intensely unpopular in fandom, but ever since he gained a personality in the storyline of The Twelve in 2000, I've adored him. I hate Magik's new costume.

For DC, all I can say is BATWOMAN IS MY LADY. I love Diana and all, but I'm kind of eh at her comic right now. KATE THOUGH. ♥ ♥ ♥

And my final word—I'm an episode or two behind OUaT, because even though I know it's good and I have fun with it, I've begun approaching the show as UUUUGH ANOTHER EPISODE REALLY? DDD: I fully blame Captain Hook for this travesty. He is boring me to tears. Elementary on the other hand, has continued to get better and better. I'm expecting the downward slide eventually, but for now I'm appreciating the ride.

This makes my inner comics fangirl happy. I rather liked Scott in the comics (mind you, my comics days were.... oh, hmmm. 1996-98? Collected various X-Men titles for a few teenage years and loved them.) but he gets a lot of dislike in fandom.

Weak, but fun. And the dialogue is still fantastic.
