I have finally caught up on Elementary!

Last night, I watched Elementary, episodes 4-9. To be honest, I started watching it again because I missed Joan, but then I realized as I was watching that I missed Sherlock, too.

I like BBC Sherlock because he's on top of his game, preening and proud and solid in his brilliance, whose only care is for the next case. Watson in BBC is so put upon, and also looking for something to take him out of the gray existence that he found himself in, and the counterweight they give each other is amazing. With this Sherlock, I'm content to sit and watch and have him explain his brilliance to me. I love the understated awesomeness of BBC Sherlock's cast. Mrs. Hudson! Mycroft!

Elementary's Sherlock is so refreshingly human. He's been broken into a million pieces and pretends he's been put back together so he doesn't have to talk about the cracks. He's broken and edged and so absolutely full of shit. He's brilliant, but there's an inadequacy in him that makes him think he needs everyone to think he's even more brilliant than he really is, and Lucy Liu's Watson is just so no nonsense and brisk she either cuts through the crap or knows what's up but lets him get away with it. With this Sherlock, I just want to cuddle him and feed him cookies and tell him that he can get over Irene and listen to him talk about his beehive. I feel like I could connect with this Sherlock, and it gives me all the feels.

Also: ALFREDO. Your argument is invalid. ♥ ♥ ♥

In summary: fjldgdfoifje sfdsxkds ijkl I LOVE THIS SHOW.
