Okay. So,
krysis_ wrote me. moriavis/clearly_unable , and in return, she asked me to slash her with someone, preferably in poetry format.
This is my attempt. Mostly
krysis_/
moriavis with a hint of someone else.
i.
I loved you first in a shy, silent sort of way,
with soft looks and softer touches and the way my voice broke
on the syllables of your name.
I loved the way your heart pounded
its quick tattoo against the shell of my ear,
whispering your secrets in a language I could pretend to understand.
In you there is an ocean, and I--
I am the echo of the waves.
In a slower, more magical time,
I think you would have been my goddess.
[for I follow where you lead.]
ii.
There is infinite room for love and pain
in the small, false confines of the heart;
I know this as one who always tests her boundaries--
and yet everything I am I would give to you.
[only ask, and it shall be]
Sometimes I remember how you kissed me:
you were warm and tasted like nothing
and it was then that I didn't want
because I'd only ever needed.
iii.
You feature in the still-frame portraits of my life,
a mirage of color spilling onto the canvas of my future,
and when I heard her name on your lips
I burned my mouth on a hasty swallow of too-hot coffee.
I whispered don't let me go in my laughter.
You said I was never holding on with your smile.
