Words are smeared
on my skin
like chocolate
bitter
ash gray on blinded eyes
nothing left inside
but smoke
acrid on my tongue.

this. is beautiful and touches me and for some reason my brain hangs onto the word 'bitter' as if it is life blood and this poem is pumping it through my veins like an artificial drug.
