Don’t ask me how I am
[I’ll deny anything and everything]
Don’t ask me where I’ve been
[everywhere and nowhere]
Don’t ask me to smile
[I’ll weep for you instead]
Don ‘t ask me how close I am to breaking
[if I wore makeup, it would be flaking]
Don’t ask me to be the sunshine
[For you, I’ll be the rain]
Don’t ask me to remove my masks
[you really don’t want to know what’s behind them]
Don’t try to fix me, I’m not broken
[I’ve been wrapped with duct tape]
Don’t ask me to tell you the beginning
[I only know the end]
