Two polls!
Hmmm.
I'm actually kind of motivated right now, and I'd like a little feedback. Please respond, I'd love you forever! ♥
I've been looking at all the fic challenges, and I thought it would be nifty to make my own. Now, there aren't any details really hashed out yet, but what I'm thinking is that there would be a featured poet each year--Anne Sexton, Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou, Pablo Neruda, any number of awesome people--and all the participants would get a randomized stanza of one of the Featured Poet's poems as a prompt to write a fic.
This would be panfandom, and open to slash, femmeslash, gen, het, trans, everything.
I haven't seen any ficathons like this before, and I've been looking on lj and dw all night.
What do you think? Does that sound fun?
As for my second poll, a ficathon like this would need a community, and I'm stumped on names. I kinda like "poetry_ficathon". It's nice and to the point. Feedback?

I will be thrilled to read the fic and I'm TOTALLY IN FAVOR of this idea, but the chances that I'd actually write a story are lottery-level in their ridiculousness.
Poetry_ficathon is a FABULOUS name for the community. FABULOUS AND AMAZING.

I would love to participate, but since I have never signed up for a challenge in my life and haven't actually written a fic in two years [probably more] then I'm probably not the one to ask to help add to your numbers of players.
I would *try* if you wanted me to, because it is you, but I have no confidence in myself not to freeze up and have nothing to show for your awesome ficathon.
So, I agree with Mr. J. I am "TOTALLY IN FAVOR" of this idea, but actually writing kind of makes me panic.
