Things I did this weekend

* Baked cookies with evanjeline all weekend. The Chai Cookie recipe from makishef was a huge hit with my mother, which made me glad I used Splenda instead of regular sugar, so that I am not responsible for sending her into a diabetic coma.

* Finally managed to convince Mom to come out for Japanese food, and although she doesn't like Miso (;__;) she liked everything else we got, so that was a successful trip. Of course, my brother Tommy almost killed me when he asked when we'd get fortune cookies, which led me into reminding him that fortune cookies are Chinese, and not Japanese and that it was really a misnomer anyway because fortune cookies were originally created by Americans.

* Was also amused at my brother's first taste of wasabi. I warned him that it was hot and made your sinuses tingle and that I cried the first time I'd tried it (shameful, but true) and he tried it and was all like 'I was expecting hot, like pepper, not hot like a gun just went off in my nose!' Seriously. Died laughing.

* Have, I believe, gotten past the writing block on the latest fic I've been working on, and can only say fondly: Oh, Conrad, you're such a slut.

YAY COOKIES. I'm glad my recipe post has done something other than just make me forget my healthy eating. :D
