O.M.G. I haven't been online in three days. This having a life stuff sucks hard, really. ;)

Anyway, that chest cold I've been complaining about? Turns out, it wasn't just a chest cold. Bronchitis rears its ugly head again! I angst. And now I have antibiotics, so hopefully it'll go away soon. I also have this horrible, like, twisted muscle or something in my lower back that's causing my entire left leg to cramp. On one hand, it's getting better, because I can actually sleep-- on the other, it hurts like fuck, and the painkillers I take are batted away like gnats by the giant of Ow.

I've been writing about a sentence a day on several things, which annoys me, because I want to finish them, god damnit! But I've been distracted by Super Collapse 3 Quest Mode, and texting my one and only friend who is available for annoyance, but he's ignoring me now, presumably because I was just wasting his time and money and whenever I get a hold of him all I do is prod him to write with me. Because god knows I can't do it by myself.

I feel emotionally listless, and I have that strange loneliness that I know won't go away even with company. On the other hand, I begin training for my new job today! That's exciting!

This is one of those days when I just want to curl up into a chair and listen to people talk about things--anything really. Something that matters, whether it's fandom community or Bush's latest fuck up or the thousand things someone needs to do that everyone knows aren't going to be done. But unfortunately, there is work, and nowhere except Denny's and fast food drive-through will be open.

I totally just killed Neil Gaiman :(

I didn't mean to! It all started as a silly-jokey American Gods reference in the heroes novel! And suddenly Claire is all *taught dead modern classic writer in class yay*

Dude, WTF? You can't kill Niel Gaiman! *scurries over to read*

Wuh? There must be texts that I haven't seen, 'cause I totally responded to the last one I saw. I dunna ignore the Rachel!

Oh, yeah, there were. I think there ended up being like, five that you didn't answer? But that's okay. ♥

i keep asking you where you are working and i don't think you ever say!

I promise you I did tell you what I was doing, but now I can't find where I told you and I think LJ might have eaten my comment. It's been doing that a lot lately.

I'm a telephone customer service representative for Washington Mutual. Sounds fun, eh?

Is it??

And I swear I never got any such thing - but I suck at remember to use the thumb tack thing so I know when people respond to me!

I haven't experienced much of it yet, as yesterday was my second day of training (and we have a month before we're even allowed to do actual work!) But I'm starting to feel like I'm in high school again. We did creative group projects, scrawled down questions for each other and then wadded them up and threw them at each other, and Fidelity is the MS-DOS computer-based program from hell.

Today, we'll be learning Seigal, which is apparently Windows-based and therefore easier to learn. And I'm learning how to read mortgage documents for information. Mortgage, I tell you. Gah. This job terrifies me, but it's already been three million times more challenging that Satterfields.

And yeah, I'm pretty sure I commented--but for serious, LJ has been eating my words like crazy. You actually use the thumbtack? I've always just had livejournal e-mail me my comments.

HOW DO I GET IT TO DO THAT! I JUST WANT THEM SENT TO ME OH GOD!

and huh, it sounds like you might like it though, if for no other reason than the lack of dumb.

If you go to "edit profile", LJ will ask you if you want to edit your comment settings as well, and you can do it from there.

Work. What can I say, I like learning stuff, even when it terrifies me.

Wah, thanks!

And that's good! At least you're learning instead of dealing with rednecks all day.

[identity profile] lunesque.livejournal.com 2007-06-07 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, totally. And Siebel was so much easier to learn than that hated Fidelity program! We also got to piggyback on calls and listen last night. People get strange over their mortgages. ^^;

aw, bronchitis? *hugs* hope you feel better soon! and hope you have fun at your new job! :)

[identity profile] lunesque.livejournal.com 2007-06-06 09:45 am (UTC)(link)
I've been steadily improving, thank god. ^_^ And the job, well, we'll see how that goes.

That sounds really bad. *laughs* I mean, it's only my third day today, so I've still got a lot to learn.
