Give me one of my own stories, and a timestamp sometime in the future after the end of the story, or sometime in the past before the story started, and I'll write you at least a hundred words of what happened then, whether it's five minutes before the story started or ten years in the future.

I love this meme! I pick "Understanding", in the future. I wanna know if Yuuri comes to terms with Conrad and Gwendal.

*dies laughing* You would pick the one KKM story that currently has a sequel being written. I've got to think about this. ^_^ *ponders*

Guh! I can't wait for that sequel!

How about the same story, timeframe between when Yuuri saw Gwendal and Conrad and the night at the baseball field? Like maybe an incident between the 3 characters where Yuuri's acting weird?

So. Um. Apparently this'll be in two comments.

First off, I'm so, so sorry this is late. It's unforgivable, really. I = lazy. Secondly, I hope you like it. It's completely unbeta'ed... so... yeah.

Yuuri yawned in boredom, sitting back in his chair and twirling his quill. He'd been signing papers for hours, it seemed, and he was itching to get outside in the sunshine. His eyes flickered to Conrad, who was in the corner waiting patiently for him to finish, and sighed.

"Is anything the matter, Your Majesty?" Conrad asked, his eyes warm with amusement.

Yuuri laughed, a little embarrassed—it seemed he'd been utterly transparent. "It's just—so boring! And it's still kind of hard to read. Can we go play for a while, Conrad? Please? I'm too young to stay inside all the time!"

Conrad laughed, coming closer and setting a hand on Yuuri's shoulder. "It's part of a king's duty, Your Majesty. You only have a little more to go for the day, and afterward, why don't we round up the soldiers and have a real game of baseball?"

"Really?" Yuuri asked. "You promise?"

"Of course," Conrad affirmed, and leaned closer to look at the papers sitting before Yuuri. Yuuri immediately held his breath, fighting a flush at Conrad's closeness. "Now, what was difficult for you to read?"

"I—that is—um…" Yuuri stammered, clenching his hand around his quill and staring sightlessly at the documents before him. He could smell Conrad, and he fidgeted, squeezing his legs together, trying desperately to quell the flood of want going through him.

"Yuuri?" Conrad's voice was a warm, comforting rumble at his back, and Yuuri licked his lips, twisting around to see Conrad's face. He had absolutely no idea what he wanted to do or say, and he thought wildly about just reaching up and kissing Conrad, and rested his hand on Conrad's arm, his fingers catching on Conrad's uniform.

Conrad's eyes flickered to the door moments before Yuuri heard a small, discreet cough. He jumped guiltily, letting go of Conrad's sleeve and sinking into his chair, his eyes sliding to the visitor. He swallowed against the sudden lump in his throat as he locked eyes with Gwendal, who was giving him the sort of look that said he would quite happily squish Yuuri like a bug given the first opportunity available.

Yuuri was abruptly and desperately glad that he was the king and that such an attempt would be charged as high treason.

"Gwendal," Conrad said with a smile, already pulling away from Yuuri. "What are you doing here?"

Gwendal raised his hand, which held a sheaf of papers. "I have a treaty for His Majesty to sign," he said flatly.

Yuuri laughed weakly. "Is that all?" I didn't do anything wrong, he tried to project to Gwendal silently. I'm innocent and cute and harmless, just like a kitty.

Gwendal didn't say anything as he placed the treaty on top of the pile. He looked at Conrad, who after a moment inclined his head.

Yuuri tried to sink further into his chair, wanting to disappear, discomfited by the silent understanding they seemed to share. It was like having an entire conversation in one look. He felt strangely like an intruder, even though they were all in his office.

Conrad rested his hand on Yuuri's back. "It's time for me to complete my rounds. I'll come back when I'm finished."

"I want to come with you!" Yuuri blurted out, and flushed miserably under Conrad's curious gaze. He couldn't bear the thought of even looking at Gwendal. "I mean, I'm bored anyway and I don't want to do lessons with Gunter and it's a really nice day out and it's not like there's any trouble in the castle or the village anyway," Yuuri couldn't seem to stop talking, even though Gwendal was looking more and more irritated and Conrad seemed to find this whole situation funny, "oh wait, what time is it? I should take a break anyway because Wolfram wanted to paint a portrait of me and I'm probably late already and I should get the yelling out of the way so that I won't be distracted while I do paperwork I'm going to go now okay bye!" Yuuri pushed his chair away from the desk and hurried toward the door, skirting past Gwendal and out into the hallway. He ran down the corridor until it turned, and then plastered himself against the wall, catching his breath.

What the hell did he just do? He was so stupid—if they hadn't suspected he knew anything, they surely did now! And even worse—now he had to go find Wolfram and ask to be painted, just so he could have an alibi for the next couple of hours.

Yuuri resolved to jump into the fountain before searching for Wolfram, just in case Shinou was willing to pity him and send him home. He certainly hoped so; he didn't really want to find out how much stupider he could be.

Ahhh!!! SO great! I love it. And it's nice and long too and so well written. Hehe, the idea of Yuuri running to Wolfram to ask to be painted. Thank you! And sorry for the late reply. I didn't see it earlier but it made my day today.

I'm so glad you liked it! It absolutely refused to be any shorter than this, so I figured I had to let it be. And really, don't be sorry for the late reply-- I was so late getting this to you that I should really be begging for your forgiveness. Knowing that you liked it totally made my day. Thanks!
