Hi, everyone! Long time no blog!
I honestly have no idea where to begin. That's a lie--I totally do.

dungeonmarm and I have gotten our own apartment. On one hand, it's so...peaceful? Like, right now, dungeonmarm and I are on almost opposite schedules, in a way (he works 8:30am-5:00pm for job training at the moment, and I work pretty much any time between 7:00am to 11:00pm depending on where I'm needed) and so there's not all that much interaction. The only downside is that I have to save up for my pet deposit, which means my cat Alex is currently staying with my dad. And I'm 95 percent certain that my plant is dead. I'm pretty sure this plant hasn't been watered for the last week--I may have been the last one to water the poor thing.
Good thing about my job, though--they had been giving me four days a week, but when I told them I moved out and I needed more hours, there was an instant increase. I went from working 20-25 hours a week to 30-40 hours a week, so...at least I know they appreciate me? IDK.
I've completely given up on NaNo, because I realized that I was holding my Festivid fill hostage. I kept telling myself: '2,000 words, and then you can work on your vid!' only then I wouldn't write, and also wouldn't vid, so I've given up on NaNo for now. Who knows, maybe I'll finish the vid soon and go back to writing my NaNo project.
I was talking todungeonmarm and scheherezhad a week or two ago, and told them a story that I think would also make my flist happy:
Dad and I were talking about the whole mess in Ferguson and the awfulness in St. Louis, when my dad burst out with (and I'm paraphrasing)
Dad: The problem is that we're all racist! We're the ones that made the laws, so it's all our responsibility to fix this!
And I just stared at him and had hearts in my eyes. He totally believes in systemic racism and how we as white people are culpable even if we don't do anything outright, because we still benefit from the things that have been put in place to protect our privilege. And this coming from the man who told me, when I was in high school, that "if you date a black man, I will beat you both, and he'll be lucky if he survives."?
I think his progress is pretty damn amazing, and I absolutely have a hand in it. It's nice to actually see change happen, isn't it? :DDD
Putting my dad in comparison with my Conservative Christian Fundamentalist Uncle S? They couldn't be more different, and I'm so proud of my dad for still thinking critically about what's going on in the world, rather than blaming others for the things that go wrong.
In other news, the Conway Comicon is this weekend? I'm working tomorrow, but I'll be available to go on Saturday after 12:00.lady_krysis wants to come, but she doesn't have a car. dungeonmarm, scheherezhad? Does anyone want to volunteer to go get her? If not, I bet I can talk my dad into bringing her down.
