List five things you enjoy, even when no one around you wants to go out and play. What lowers your stress/blood pressure/anxiety level? Make a list, post it to your journal, and then tag five friends and ask them to post it to theirs. (leaving off obvious answers like "friends", "family" and "sex".)

1. Tea. I love it best when I can curl up on the couch with a cup of tea, and breathe in the way it smells. I love the way the heat comes through my mug, the way it warms my hands. It's one of the only times I'm ever not cold.

2. Showers and/or baths. Because I love the way my shampoo smells, and the way water feels, like a high-pressured hot rain. I love the feeling of being clean afterwards and thick terry-cloth robes (or those really thick fluffy towels) to wrap yourself in.

3. Music. Because it's wonderful. Sometimes it's just how absolutely beautiful the music is, or how powerful the lyrics. Chords, harmonies, a catch in the voice of the singer--it's all good.

4. Writing. I wouldn't necessarily say that it lowers my blood pressure or anxiety, but there's always something special about seeing words form on the page, seeing something fantastic come out that only five minutes ago didn't exist. It's even better when I put it away for a while and rediscover it, and still like it. Even writing letters--when I do that, I lower my guard, and let everything spill out. Unfortunately, most of what spills out is my anxiety and worries and stupidity, which is most certainly the reason why I'm terrible at writing letters.

5. Reading. Because I always hope for the happy endings I don't have the courage to seek out for myself.

(P.S. This was bloody difficult! Everything I'd wanted to say, [livejournal.com profile] nonewwitticisms had already said!)
