It wasn't always the same type of person, either; if he liked the idea of someone, he would go through his memory of his previous victims, the meticulous catalog he keeps like some people keep a Rolodex, and if that person matched any characteristic of his last five, he let it go. He wasn't terribly committed, even when planning a murder.
2) Okay, so, this is Red Riding Hood retold, with Cheri as RRH, of course, Jeremiah/The Family as the wolf and Job as the Huntsman. Job and Cheri probably have met in the village before, at least once, so Job can do his love at first sight thing, but after that, it would just be the Family tormenting Cheri in the woods, like pretty much all my other VM stories, until Job killed Jeremiah and helped Cheri get free. Afterward, she would leave and he would stay behind and probably get punished by the Family for interfering in their business because of that girl.
