For Regret

Regret asked me which poem got the award, so here it is:

Today my world fell apart in a shower of crystal tears,
While they learned the answer to all their ancient fears.
From my shattered soul, an angel suddenly appears
From all the diamond shards of my room of broken mirrors.

And for anyone else interested, here's another poem of mine that's going to be published:

What would immortality be like?
Never to feel the golden sunset of years,
To be forever caught within the isolated forests of the night,
To be eternally bound with dust-turned tears,
And a pain so old and vast.
Would your memories begin to fade?
A tormented soul that springs from a forgotten past?
Punishment for breaking the restrictions that had been made.
Lost within the burdens of your mind
Life would be a timeless sentence
Tortured madness where saints walk blind,
Wordlessly serving your penance.
Throughout it all, lingering sounds would still fill the air:
The pain and suffering everyone must bear.
