I'm back, safe and sound at home. Family time was mostly boring, as they did a lot of playing pinochle and I did a lot of writing and playing video games. Let me tell you, between curious family members and recalcitrant muses, it was kind of tough.

Of course, the highlight of the 'omg my family doesn't know me' game is when my Grandpa tried to foist Chocolate-Raspberry Special K bars on me. Hence, this conversation:

John!muse: Hey, raspberry!

Me: ugh

Dad: *laughing maniacally* You know John wants it! It's raspberry!

Grandpa: *shakes box* Want one?

*I get one. I eat it with an unhappy look on my face. John is happy. Dad is laughing*

Dad: I bet John enjoyed that, didn't he?

Me: You leave John out of this!

John: Heh. Raspberry. Yum.

*silence, while I finish the raspberry yuckiness*

Grandpa: *clears throat, puts his hand on mine* So, who's this John I keep hearing about? Are you going to have those babies before Jessie (my cousin) does?

Me: *headdesk*

Dad: *dies laughing*

John!muse: WHAT?

Rodney!muse: *dies laughing* Oh, my god, invisible muse babies! You just never see it coming, Sheppard! Ha ha ha ha haha haahahahahha!

Me: *cries*

Grandpa: *is completely oblivious*

Dad: *takes pity* Jon is a friend of hers that lives in Las Vegas.

Me: Yes. *runs away to play video games*

In other news, I actually wrote more canon for Alex and Raven, attempted to write porn for them, but they're so long-winded that I only got to kissing, and attempted to write a draft of the first chapter for the McShep ARN, but failed miserably.

And now there is crazy amount of rain left over from Hurricane Gustav, making my life just annoying enough to wish I had the rest of the week off. :)

Also: I am amused by the Choose Your Own Adventure McShep porn. Awesomes.

In theory, I totally want to work on the ARN, but I am stuck in the monster fic because I realized that I have no idea what I am doing. Srsly, there should be a big important conversation coming up a scene or three from now wherein Bart and Gar discuss things again, and I don't know how the hell it's going to go. At all. Thusly, I am stuuuuuuck. T_T

Hey, also! I almost died of hilarity at work this afternoon when I was doing a happy dance about the Bones premier tonight. Because, see, I realized that in the theoretical Bones/SGA fic? John and Booth could totally bond over hating clowns! It's awesome.

I know the feeling. *squish* But so far, what I've read is good. Keep chugging away at it!

They totally could. You know, you should totally write that Bones/SGA crossover. :P

I'm poking at it and hoping that if I can make it through Gar's meeting, and maybe a couple of scenes after that, then the conversation will start to make sense. It has to happen, or the story can't go forward. Why are my brainmeats all clogged up? :(

Yeah, I'll get to work on that right now. :P (Okay, but really, I would like to try it someday. It's still an awesome idea.)

(Also, every time I think about it, Rodney just stares at John's and Booth's hair and gets this Look. He's all, "Oh my god, there are two of them." It amuses me to no end.)
