So, yesterday, I was surprised.
It was a good day at work. I only wanted to bash my head against the wall once the entire night. My AHT was exactly where it was supposed to be. My co-workers apparently love me. I didn't dread a single call! It was so bizarre, like, walking into an alternate universe twilight-zoney job where things are full of awesome.
I don't expect it to last for long. *laughs*
A co-worker of mine (Will) and I were discussing Heroes the other day, because, as you know, the Encylopedia Heroica is my brain, and I was telling him how abused the characters of Maya and Alejandro were, what a useless waste of space West kinda was, how I don't mind Elle as a mover-of-plot but I can't stand her as an actual person, and how absolutely, mind-numbingly boring Peter genuinely is without Nathan, and he looked at me with like, these glazed eyes and asked, "Have you thought about being an English teacher?"
And I was like, what, because seriously, what does that have to do with Heroes?
And then he was like, Your analyzation skills are amazing! You're thinking about the characters and the plot in a way that is so far above my level! *etc etc, which basically led him to something like "Take me as a Padawan, Jedi Master of Writing! I wish to learn all of your secrets!"*
Which is inherently strange, one, because I just made a Star Wars reference, and two, other people meta about things a billion times better than I do, so this kind of praise is boggling. So now, he wants me to write an essay about each character in season two, and how I felt about them and what they did for the overarching plot as plot-movers versus what their characters were like, what could have been done with them versus what was actually done with them, so that he can study my points of view and take more time to rebut my thoughts or ask more probing questions.
It's so weird.
