I'm also hand-wavey on The Invisible Ring. What was your opinion of it?

As for The Invisible Ring, it's actually a side story of the Black Jewels trilogy. If I remember correctly (it has been a long time since I've read it) it was pretty good, and I think it stands on its own, although reading the trilogy helps you get the little subtle world stuff. ^_^
